SOLD Apollo 11 Lift Off No. 1 10 x 8 Colour Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. 107-KSC-69PC-447 16 July 1969 The Apollo 11 Saturn V engines have started and are building up the 7 1/2 million pounds of thrust that will launch the spacecraft into Earths orbit. This is the first step for the spacecraft and crew for their planned rendezvous with the Moon. The Apollo 11 Saturn 506 Stack with CM-107 and LM-5 is launching the three man crew for the first lunar landing mission. In 2 1/2 minutes of powered flight, the S-IC booster lifts the vehicle to an altitude of about 39 miles some 55 miles downrange.
