£14.95 Apollo 15 Station 2 Boulder 10 x 8 Colour Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. AS15-86-11547 31 July 1971 This is the large Station 2 boulder located on the slope of Hadley Delta that caught Dave Scott's interest. In this cross-sun shot you can see the gnomon on the far side of the boulder and Dave's shadow just beyond that. Irwin had just taken the very well known photo of Dave on the slope of Hadley Delta examining the boulder in photo AS15-85-11437 above. This very fine vintage colour glossy NASA photograph is in mint condition. Printed on heavy 'A Kodak Paper'. |
|
£14.95 Apollo 15 Station 2 Boulder Sample 10 x 8 Colour Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. AS15-86-11548 31 July 1971 Jim Irwin is about to sample the fillet on the east side of the Station 2 boulder. Out on the mare, most boulders have skirts of dirt built up out of ejecta from nearby - or distant - impacts. The ejecta strikes the side of the boulder and falls to the ground, building up the skirt or fillet. In this case, the fillet is more likely to be a mound of soil pushed aside as the boulder landed at it's present location. Dave is holding an individual sample bag to receive the soil. Note the orange colour of the light transmitted through the Teflon. You can clearly see Jim's shadow as he scoops up the sample and is almost ready to put it in the sample bag that Dave is holding. This very fine vintage colour glossy NASA photograph is in mint condition. Printed on heavy 'A Kodak Paper'. |
|
£14.95 Apollo 15 Station 2 Boulder Sample #2 10 x 8 Colour Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. AS15-86-11550 31 July 1971 Dave Scott's yo-yo is no longer working and he has stuck the tongs in the soil to free his hands to receive the Station 2 boulder fillet sample from Irwin, see photo above AS15-86-11548. He may have taken this photograph to show the ability of the soil to support the tongs. This very fine vintage colour glossy NASA photograph is in mint condition. Printed on heavy 'A Kodak Paper'. |

£14.95 Apollo 15 Seatbelt Besalt Sample 10 x 8 Colour Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. AS15-86-11580 31 July 1971 Dave stopped the Rover on the pretext of adjusting his seatbelt, but is actually collecting a sample of vesicular basalt that he had noticed earlier was what he really wanted to do. Dave has stuck Jim's tongs in the ground to serve as a gnomon. Note that the clip from the broken yo-yo is still attached. There appears to be some obscuration of the central part of the image, perhaps because of dust on the camera lens. The sample Dave wanted is the rock just to the left of the Jim's tongs. This very fine vintage colour glossy NASA photograph is in mint condition. Printed on heavy 'A Kodak Paper'. |

The flag was deployed toward the end of EVA-2. The Lunar Module, "Falcon," is partially visible on the right. Hadley Delta in the background rises approximately 4,000 meters (about 13,124 feet) above the plain. The base of the mountain is approximately 5 kilometres (about three statue miles) away. £14.95 Apollo 15 Next To The Last Photo Taken 10 x 8 Colour Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. AS15-88-11929 2 August 1971 This is the next to the last Lunar EVA photo taken on the Apollo 15 mission. The last Lunar EVA photo is AS15-88-11930. This is a photo taken through the struts of the LM looking towards the LRV. Jim Irwin is already back at the LM at this point and is working at the MESA. Dave Scott is on his way back to the LM from the VIP site. Dave stopped to take this photo of a partially-buried boulder that is located just below and to the left of the U.S. flag that they raised early in the mission. Dave more than likely wanted to take a photo of this boulder from day 1 of there three EVA's, and got it just in time before leaving the Moon. This very fine vintage colour glossy NASA photograph is in mint condition. Printed on heavy 'A Kodak Paper'. |
