£8.95 Apollo Facilities Verification Spacecraft 10 x 8 B/W Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. 68-H-769 23 August 1968 A fantastic detailed view inside the VAB as an Apollo Facilities Verification Spacecraft is hoisted onto the Saturn 503 launch vehicle in High Bay #1. The verification spacecraft will be used for testing purposes and will later be replaced by the Apollo flight spacecraft 103 that is undergoing checkout in the Manned Spacecraft Operations Building for the Apollo 8 Mission. This very fine 1970's glossy NASA photograph was printed using the same paper and process as the vintage prints and is in near mint condition with the vintage style purple logo and text on the back. |

£6.95 Apollo 8 Moon Over MSC View 10 x 8 B/W Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. S68-34803 24 December 1968 A shining and far-distant Moon symbolically looks down on a busy, well-lighted Mission Control Centre (MCC) on Christmas Eve. At the moment this picture was taken, a live telecast was being received on MCC television monitors from the Apollo 8 spacecraft which was orbiting the Moon some 238,857 miles away. An Apollo 8 TV camera was photographing the lunar surface from an altitude of only 60 nautical miles. £8.95 Apollo 8 Earth View #4 10 x 8 B/W Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. AS8-16-2589 22 December 1968 Both sides of the Atlantic Ocean are visible in this view from the Apollo 8 spacecraft. The large, most prominent, land mass is the bulge of west Africa. The portion of Africa near the equator is dark and cloudy, but the more northerly portions are clear, showing the prominent cape at Dakar and the Senegal River in Senegal; Cap Blanc; the Adrar Plateau in Mauritania; the wide expanse of desert in Algeria and Spanish Sahara; and at the far edge, the Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Clouds cover the eastern coast of South America, southward from Surinam and Guyana to near the City of Salvador, Brazil. This view was taken after tranlunar insertion. This fine 1970's glossy NASA photograph is in very good condition, near mint. |

£8.95 Apollo 8 Earth Sky View 10 x 8 B/W Glossy NASA Photograph NASA No. AS8-16-2581 22 December 1968 Most of the south-eastern United States and Caribbean Sea, the U.S. coastline from Chesapeake Bay to the Florida peninsula can be seen from the Apollo 8 spacecraft in orbit above the Earth. The Bahamas and the Islands of Cuba, Jamaica, Hispiniola and Puerto Rico extend across the Caribbean. The light blue of the shallow Bahama banks contrasts with the darker hue of the deeper water especially in the Tongue of the Ocean area.
