£8.95 The Aurora 7 Recovery Operations #1 10 x 8 Black & White Glossy Photograph 24 May 1962 Navy Recovery Helicopter has finally arrived on the recovery scene and hovers while Para-rescue divers finish securing the flotation collar around the Aurora 7 spacecraft some 135 miles N.E. of Puerto Rico. Carpenter spent 3 hours in the Atlantic waiting to be recovered as he over-shot his impact target area by about 200 miles because he delayed re-entry procedures. Para-rescue Men parachuted from 1200-ft. and landed 50-ft from the Aurora 7 spacecraft before Navy recovery helicopter No. 61 arrived. Airman John Hertach and S/Sgt. Ray McClure were the two Para-rescue men involved in the recovery operation. This fine vintage NASA glossy photograph is in very good condition. |
