£14.95 Skylab 1 Seen During Fly Around 10 x 8 Colour NASA Photograph NASA No. SL2-4-265 May 1973 A view of the Skylab 1 space station Orbital Workshop showing the micrometeoroid shield missing. A parasol solar shield was later deployed to shade this exposed area. This picture was taken from the Skylab 2 Command/Service Module during its "fly around" inspection. The Apollo Telescope Mount is in the background. The damaged and partially deployed OWS solar array system wing is at lower right. After an aluminium strapping was cut during the June 7th extravehicular activity, the solar panel fully deployed. The OWS solar panel on the opposite side was completely ripped off during the Skylab 1 launch on May 14th leaving only cables and tubing. In their preliminary inspection the crewmen noted that portions of the micrometeoroid shield had slid back underneath the OWS solar wing. Solar panels on the Apollo Telescope Mount extend out at the top centre. This fine vintage NASA colour photograph is in very good condition. |

The aluminium hold down strap which failed to release, preventing the solar array panel from deploying properly, can be seen in place and intact. The strap was later cut during an early mission EVA allowing the solar array panel to be deployed. This fine vintage NASA photograph is in near mint condition. One of the few NASA black and white photographs printed on 'A Kodak Paper'. |

£6.95 Skylab 2 San Francisco and Bay Area 10 x 8 Colour NASA Photograph NASA No. SL2-03-118 Although clouds obscure part of the city of San Francisco and the mouth of the Bay (37.5N, 122.0W), many cultural and natural features in the immediate vicinity are obvious. The Bay Bridge which was damaged in the 1989 earthquake, Candlestick Park, San Mateo and Dumbarton Bridges as well as the various colored settling ponds rimming the south end of the Bay, the San Andreas and Calaveras faults and many of the major highways can be seen. Color infrared photography is very useful for haze penetration and greater definition of the imagery as well as vegetation detection, depicted as shades of red. This fine vintage NASA colour photograph is in near mint condition. |

£8.95 Skylab 2 Crew Safely Onboard Ticonderoga 10 x 8 Black & White NASA Photograph 22 June 1973 The three Skylab crewmen arrive safetly on the deck of the prime recovery ship, U.S.S. Ticonderoga, following the successful splashdown of the Skylab 2 Command Module about 835 miles southwest of San Diego, California. Recovery and medical personnel greet the astronauts as they egressed the CM and Kerwin needed a hand to steady himself after a long duration in weightlessness. The crewmen remained inside the spacecraft until it was hoisted aboard the recovery ship. This vintage NASA photograph is in very good condition. |

Weitz, pilot of the first manned Skylab mission, lies in the lower body negative pressure device onboard the recovery ship after splashdown. This experiment is to provide information concerning the course of cardiovascular adaptation after flight and to provide post-flight data for predicting the degress of orthostatic intolerance and impairment of physical capacity after returning to Earth's environment. Technicians wear face masks to prevent passing on any illness to the Skylab crewman. This vintage NASA photograph is in very good condition. |
