Astronaut Training
Official Vintage NASA Photographs Last Update 08 May 2019 |
As NASA prided itself with its training and readiness exercises, with the hopes of preparing its astronauts for any occurrence, Jungle and Desert Survival Training was required by all newly selected astronauts. This experience was to prepare them in case their spacecraft was thrown off course and they landed deep inside one of the worlds many jungles or desserts. However I open this special gallery with a few early shots of the Slide Wire Emergency Egress System. A few of my favourite astronauts are seen in training on this very technological escape system. |
